Follow-up on Coleman’s Master Plan

As i was having a conversation today i remembered another very important aspect of evangelism/discipleship that the book emphasized, which is that discipleship is a slow process requiring much patience on the part of the discipler, and perseverence on the part of those being discipled. There will be set-backs and failures and also steps forward in growth. Some people may fall away early on or further along, but this is not necessarily a failure on the leader’s part. It is simply a reality that many will not want to count the cost of following Christ. We are all in danger of this if left to our own devices. Thus, reliance on the work of Christ in our lives through His Holy Spirit is essential and will be the fertilizer for our growth in knowledge of Him and faithfulness to His mission.
